Times Table Tricks
Shortcuts and tips to recall your multiplication tables.
Follow these tricks and you’ll be flying through your times tables even faster.
- Put the smallest number first (4 x 7 is often easier to remember than 7 x 4)
- Count on from an answer you know (for 6x 5, you may know 5 x 5 = 25, then count on another 5)
- Counting on from a known answer also works when going backwards! (for 4 x 5, if you know 5 x 5 = 25, then just count back 5)
- Count forwards and backwards quickly using your fingers

Remember
- Everyone learns and recalls number and facts in a different way. Some stick to fingers and others may recall the whole number line. The best way, is the way that you are most comfortable with.
